Tommy Evans is sponsored by Warp Skatepark. He's a young tranny ripper. Skated like a man all weekend long and did solid frontside airs in the deep end.
Little Cody Davis is pictured here doing a backside melon about 3-4 feet out of the bowl. Can you do airs as tall as you are? If yes, than I'd say you are a pretty good skateboarder.
This is one of the Fountain boys from Omaha, Nebraska. This kid did large, sometimes no-footed frontside airs. Check the rails and neon shirt - Kevin Stabb would proud!
Max Werlich takes his bowl skating very seriously. He skated for 25 days straight before the contest. He also started doing late grab inverts like this one.
The winner of the expert division - Josh Folley went to fakie after this backside 50-50 around the hip. Josh completely deserved 1st place with his fast and smooth style.
One of my favorite skaters - Jammin' Jay Jenson whooses through a frontside 50-50 faster than anybody else can. Jay could show any a pro a thing or two about skating bowls.
They call him Roadkill - he won best trick last year and I heard that he was just coming off of a broken leg with rods, screws and the whole works. Doesn't seem to phase him though. Here he's doing a backside half (indy) gay- twist. Well, thats what I call it or it could be a switch frontside nollie grab for you new schoolers.
You don't know Rob Guth? Shame on you, he's a local ripper that is attached to the hip of Bob Bogema. This is what a mute varial looks like over the hip. i think Rob also tied for 1st in best trick with another one of these in the deep end.
You don't know Randy Pierce? Shame on you again, he's another local ripper thats been around for a long time. Shown here doing a feeble to rock slide to fakie only as he can. Not sure what he placed, but he sure is an inspiration to all of the older guys out there.
Chris Lambrecht owns a skate shop in Wisconsin somewhere and he also has a deep, deep bag of tricks. Like this one here - a frontside kickflip to tail. He stomped it hard and rode away with authority.
Here's another pic of Josh Folley locking in a frontside smith. This skinny kid gets a little better everytime he skates and will soon be the number one bowl skater in the Midwest
The after party was held at Fred Block's Wrinkle Studios. He's got a killer setup with this quarter pipe and another one with a bowled corner about 3 feet tall. Jay Jenson can't get enough as he powers through this frontside tailslide.
Here's Dusty sprackin' a frontside ollie just before he kissed the pavement and had another rib.
Hey kids take note - this is how you do an Andrect as demonstrated by the other Fountain boy - Jordan. Thanks to his father Mark for sending this pic in.
THANK YOU TO BILL AND GLEN FOR BRINGING THE MIDWEST BOWLRIDERS TO THE 3RD LAIR AGAIN FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR.
