2009 O.U.T Contest Report
2009 O.U.T Contest Report
This 8th annual O.U.T contest reminded everyone of how exciting flatground skating can be. The contest started off in the morning with the kiddie bracket. Although it was early, these 32 younger skaters were fired up and ready to compete. Game by game they battled it out until only four remained. Ryan, Joel, Carston, and Michael (The Mongoose) were ready for the showdown. They played the first couple games until only Ryan and Michael remained. The final game was a close one but in the end it was the young Ryan Bender who was proclaimed the winner of the 2009 O.U.T kiddie bracket.
The money bracket was next up on the agenda for the rainy day. 64 of Minnesota's best flat ground skaters came to win the cash prize. Many games were close, some, not so close, but overall the best flat ground skaters shined. They battled it out until only four Minnsota hometown heroes remianed. Davis Torgerson, C.J Tambornino, Cody Davis, and Tom Roher. All of the top four skaters except for Cody were a previous O.U.T Champions so, many hoped for Cody to be the new champion. The games were intense. Cody and C.J were the losers of there games which left Tom and Davis as the two finalists. They played very close games until Davis missed the trick that lossed him the game, leaving Tom Roher the 2009 O.U.T Champion!!!
Once again the skill of Minnesota skateboarders has amazed us all and excited us for years to come. The 3rd Lair would like to thank everyone who competed in or helped out in the 2009 O.U.T contest.
